Making Links Scholarship 2026
Our Making Links Scholarship is designed to help socially mobile students fulfil their potential and access a career in law. This unique opportunity provides students going into their second year with £6,000 in financial support, a week in business at our London headquarters and one-to-one coaching.
The Scholarship takes place over six months with both in-person and virtual activity. You will receive:
- £6,000 in financial support in three instalments throughout the duration of the Scholarship
- A week in business in our London HQ with work shadowing, interactive workshops, mock interviews and socials
- One-to-one coaching
- A junior lawyer mentor and dedicated Trainee Recruitment contact
Please note, successful individuals must not have accepted a Training Contract offer or another professional scholarship elsewhere for the duration of the Making Links Scholarship.
We are looking for students:
- Currently in your first year of a three-year undergraduate degree or second year of a four-year programme at a UK or Irish university, studying law or non-law
- Consistent 2:1 across all undergraduate degree modules
- From a socially mobile background, such as:
- You’re the first in a generation to attend higher education
- You’re a carer or have caring responsibilities
- You were eligible for free school meals
- You attended state school throughout your secondary education
- You identify as having a disability
- You have refugee status or an uncertain immigration status
Application Process:
- Short application form including work experience and extracurriculars
- Cover letter. You should consider including the following in your cover letter: your interest in Linklaters and commercial law, why you are interested in the scholarship and a bit about yourself/your background, what you are hoping to achieve during the scholarship and what skills you would like to build upon
- Online Capp assessment
- Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Test
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a video interview
Programme Dates:
- 6-month programme from August – February 2026/27.
- The week in business will take place from 7 - 11 September.
