Clyde & Co's New York team is one of the largest insurance focused litigation groups in the US and includes many of the sector's leading litigators.
Our New York lawyers represent many of the world's leading domestic and international insurers and reinsurers in their most complex, high value matters.
Our New York office works with sectors that move our connected world, in particular playing a major role in the aviation and marine sectors. Our lawyers have advised on virtually every major high stakes aviation and aerospace matter and our marine team is part of the largest global marine practice in the world.
Handling complex business disputes in state and federal courts throughout the US, our New York team represents clients in a wide variety of commercial disputes and before reinsurance arbitration panels such as AAA, ICDR, ICC and others. The New York office also has a strong focus on Bermuda-form arbitrations.
Our New York attorneys come from leading firms, drawn by the opportunity to represent world class companies without the conflict issues and high-cost structures that beset many large US firms. By focusing on core sectors and services, this has helped attract some of the most talented insurance coverage and corporate attorneys in the US, as well as leading litigators representing corporations.

The Program
Our program is designed to provide you with a realistic view of what it’s like to be an attorney in our New York office. Throughout the course of the summer, you’ll have the opportunity to work on meaningful work assignments, participate in training and development programs, and observe the law in practice. As a summer associate, you will work with our attorneys on a variety of substantive projects that involve tasks like legal research, analysis and drafting for ongoing client matters.
Clyde & Co’s summer program will equip you with the skills and legal knowledge needed to become a successful attorney. Our legal skills curriculum includes topics like legal research and writing; negotiations; and other practice specific skills. Our practice group seminars will enable you to learn about our areas of practice and hopefully discover your own unique interests along the way. We strive to offer you as much hands-on experience as possible. Summer associates are invited to attend depositions, court appearances, and other professional events.
We recognize the critical role mentorship plays in fostering your professional and personal development. From day one, you will be assigned a contact attorney who will provide guidance and support to help you thrive at Clyde & Co. As a summer associate, you will receive continuous and individualized feedback from our attorneys regarding your work assignments. We're looking for:
- You are pursuing a J.D. with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
- Proven academic and professional record.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Inclusive mindset and willingness to embrace diverse perspectives.
- We ask our summer associates to spend a minimum of nine weeks with the firm.
- The hourly pay for this position in our New York office is $72.12
