About Herbert Smith Freehills

At Herbert Smith Freehills, we align your growth and ambition with ours. We invest in your personal and professional growth and support you to achieve your ambition. And you share responsibility for playing a part in delivering the firm’s growth and ambition too.

We’re a high-profile, respected and renowned leading international law firm. This means you’ll be working on important or leading matters and markets, with colleagues who are respected in their field. You'll have the opportunity to gain international exposure, by engaging in cross-border deals and transactions as well as by experiencing different cultures and offices through an international secondment on the London Trainee Associate Programme. Your diverse perspective will be welcomed, whatever your background and experience and whether your degree is in law or something different. Despite our prominent position in the sector, we’ve never been complacent, we’re ambitious and focused on growth. From our sector specialisms, to our commitment to digital legal delivery, you’ll be part of a team that’s actively engaging with the future.

Your opportunity

If you're a LGBT+ student contemplating a career in law, we've got just the event for you - our IRIS (Inclusion, Respecting Identity and Sexuality) Network Open Day.

This open day is your chance to hear directly from our trainees and associates who identify as LGBT+ and learn about how we're committed to investing in your growth and development throughout your journey with us. You'll meet the passionate members of our IRIS network, who are dedicated to making the legal profession a safe and inclusive space for all, and championing LGBT+ inclusion across our firm. You'll also hear directly from our Early Careers team, who will be on hand to provide invaluable advice on how to write a strong vacation scheme application.

Join us and discover how you can thrive in our inclusive culture at HSF.
