Legal Traineeship options

We offer a two year Traineeship programme and you will be asked to specify your preference in your application form.

Our Perth traineeship programme offers the opportunity to undertake two one-year seats in both Land & Rural Business and Private Client.

For our Edinburgh traineeship programme, this may include six months in our Morningside office and/or six months in our Glasgow office providing the opportunity to experience up to four different departments:

• Corporate
• Dispute Resolution
• Energy & Strategic Land
• Housebuilding
• Land and Rural Business
• Private Client & Tax
• Residential Property

Important dates

The application closing date for the 2028 Legal Traineeship Programme is 12 noon on 7 September 2026 however we encourage you to complete your application as soon as possible.

First stage assessments are due to take place in person in Edinburgh on 22/23 September and second stage interviews are due to take place in person in Edinburgh on 8 October. Full details will be provided to successful candidates.
