The Clyde & Co Sydney office specialises in insurance and reinsurance, cyber, energy, marine, and natural resources, amongst other practices.
The Programme
Our Clerkship programme is an 8-week Summer Clerkship, from November 2025 to February 2026 (dates to be confirmed). Clerks rotate through two different practice groups, gaining valuable experience and insights into various areas of law.
What to Expect
As a Clerk, you can expect a variety of tasks, including:
- Real Work Experience: Observe cases, draft responses, provide advice, and conduct research.
- Significant Deals: Get involved in important deals, meetings, and negotiations.
- Litigation Exposure: Attend court hearings, arbitrations, and mediations to see different types of litigation first-hand.
- Insurance Law: Work alongside leading insurance lawyers as they demystify the complexities of insurance law.
- Privacy and Cyber Law: Learn about privacy advice and the cyber landscape in Australia.

We're looking for
- Academic Standing: Applicants should be in their penultimate or final year of a law degree with strong academic performance.
- Working Rights: Must have the right to work in Australia (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid Australian Work Visa).
- Availability: Able to commit to paid full-time work for the entire 8-week Summer Clerkship programme.
- 2027 Graduate Programme: This clerkship is designed to identify and hire candidates for the 2027 Graduate Programme, providing a pathway to a rewarding career at Clyde & Co.
