THE ROLE
Central to shaping the future direction of British Land, the Strategy Team tackles some of the organisation’s biggest questions, like “how should British Land respond to the threats and opportunities it faces?” and “in which real estate sectors should we invest?”.
As a Junior Strategy Analyst, you will undertake analysis and primary research into these and other high-profile questions, while supporting the Investment and Insight teams on related workstreams to broaden your skillset. You will work on highly influential and sensitive projects for the company’s most senior decision-makers, the Executive Committee and the Board, and, in doing so, interact with expert colleagues across the wider business. Throughout, you will be supported by a team of talented Strategy colleagues keen to help you learn and progress.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Contribute to the development of British Land’s corporate strategy, identifying new capital allocation opportunities and evaluating key trends affecting commercial real estate
- With support from your colleagues, prepare high-quality presentations on your strategic research and present these directly to the Strategy Team, including the Head of Strategy and Investment (member of the Executive Committee)
- Support the Strategy Team in its preparation of periodic Board presentations
- Support Investment Team and Insight Team workstreams on an ad hoc basis
ABOUT YOU
- Excellent written, oral and visual communication skills
- Analytical, creative, proactive and hardworking approach
- Outstanding academic record and an understanding of financial concepts
- Good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (financial modelling skills are desirable but not essential)
- Interest in real estate and real estate trends
- Strong research skills, and able to draw concise conclusions from complex quantitative and qualitative sources
- Trusted to handle highly confidential information
