We are known for our diverse perspectives and renowned for our culture. Being human, bold and outstanding are more than our values: you’ll discover they are our lived experience. And by being ambitious for your growth and ours, we’ll achieve our goals together.

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer: Your growth. Our ambition.

Your opportunity:

Our Intellectual Property (IP), Cyber and Technology Open Day is your chance to explore many ways a technical background can be applied to a career in law.

The event will include an overview of IP law (the law protecting inventions, brands, technology, media and creative work) as well as the legal side of cyber security and other areas of technology law. There will be case studies presented by our science and technology qualified lawyers, showing how their skills and interests are involved in the matters we handle: from interviewing experts in a scientific or technical field, to supervising experiments, understanding how software has been misused, appreciating how the latest blockbuster drugs were invented and recognising the scientific and technical context in which this happened, to being able to communicate with technologically sophisticated clients and even prevent or limit cyber disasters, as well as dealing with the complex IP issues surrounding AI.

We’ll also give you an insight into the innovations in technology happening in our firm and how we develop solutions for case management and internal projects, and to solve our clients’ needs.

The day aims to give you an idea of the sorts of interesting and exciting things you’d be working on if you decided to join us, whether as a lawyer or as part of our legal operation function.
