About Bevan Brittan

Bevan Brittan LLP is a UK Top-100 commercial law firm which operates nationally across construction, energy & resource management, higher education and financial services sectors, complementing the firm's market leadership within housing, local and central government and health and social care, with the firm's award-winning legal and regulatory teams based across its offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and London.

At Bevan Brittan we provide new lawyers with the skills and the support that sets them up for a successful legal career. Our trainee solicitors get a tailored training and development programme that gives them early exposure to real work for real clients and this careful management of the learning process allows confidence to grow alongside experience.

Your Training Contract

Training contracts are provided across our four offices in Birmingham, Bristol, leeds and London.

Your two year training contract with Bevan Brittan will be made up of four six month seats offering you the opportunity to gain experience across our practice areas.

We offer trainee seats across all four of our departments; Clinical Risk, Commercial & Infrastructure, Litigation, Advisory & Regulatory (including Employment), and Property. Each department encompasses a number of teams. You can read more about each of our teams here.

From the outset you will be given real responsibility. The emphasis is on getting stuck in, learning and enjoying yourself. You'll be taking part in client meetings, doing your fair share of research and drafting and attending court hearings from the off.

We believe it is crucial that our trainees have access to an extensive support network. For each seat you will be supervised by an experienced lawyer. You will also have the support of our Early Talent team who are always available to answer any questions or generally offer advice.

Eligibility

As a professional national law firm, we are looking for strong academic achievement from applicants; ABB at A-Levels and 2:1 at degree level is our expectation (the degree does not have to be in law).

We also recognise the value of relevant, strong, commercial work experience and welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate this, but may not fully meet our academic requirements. When applying, please do let us know of any clear mitigating circumstances, or if you have at least three years' relevant commercial work experience.
