Training Contract - Plymouth 2025
We are thrilled to announce an immediate opening for a Training Contract in our Plymouth office, starting this year. This unique opportunity has become available for a highly motivated individual who has already completed their LPC or who has successfully completed both SQE1 and SQE2.
At Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) we take pride in nurturing and developing the future leaders of our firms. We are an international law firm with a point of view like no other. We know that today's trainee solicitors are tomorrow's associates and partners. That's why we make a long-term investment in all our trainees. Right from the start, we'll focus on helping you develop a lasting career with an ambitious firm.
Our commitment goes beyond simply filling training contracts – we want to find trainees who can contribute to our collective success today and begin to build careers with us. If you have what it takes, you can look forward to working on a variety of challenging projects for high-profile clients surrounded by supportive, approachable professionals.
What will you be doing?
This is your training contract and it's up to you to take charge of your career development. Along the way we offer fantastic opportunities to develop your legal career in a dynamic and expanding firm. Supported by trained and dedicated supervisors along the way, you'll have access to high-quality work and engage with senior client contacts. We regularly second trainees to our most high profile clients.
It is a lot of responsibility at an early stage of your career but we think that is part of what makes our training programme so appealing. Whilst we're pushing you outside of your comfort zone, we're providing you with all of the support you need to succeed
What makes it great to work here?
We continually work hard to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. Our culture gives us much more of a human feel, emphasising that we're more than just suits!
As signatories to the Mindful Business Charter, it's important to us that our people are able to maintain healthy and happy lives, both in and out of work. We have a number of resources and initiatives designed to support health and wellbeing and we're very happy to talk flexible working, full-time or part-time working patterns.
Through our DEI initiatives we create an environment in which difference is valued. We have an Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Group, led by our Board Sponsor, which works with our colleague networks (we currently have firm supported networks for race, ethnicity, and cultural heritage, LGBTQ+, disabilities, families, and women's career development and we're in constant dialogue with our people about how we expand our networks to better support everybody). Find out more about DEI at WBD here. We encourage applicants from all social backgrounds, ethnicities, disabilities, gender identities and sexual orientations.
We are committed to ensuring our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible to all. If you have a disability or long term condition and need us to make any adjustments to give you the best possible recruitment process, please let us know by contacting the Early Talent Recruitment Team on Early.Careers@wbd-uk.com.
