The Role: 2027 2L Summer Associate

Location: Dallas, Texas

Looking for a summer that will launch your litigation career? At Clyde & Co’s Dallas office, you’ll do more than observe. You’ll actively contribute to complex insurance and commercial matters that impact clients across Texas, the Southwest, and beyond.

As a Summer Associate in Dallas, you’ll work alongside attorneys with decades of experience counseling and litigating on a wide range of insurance coverage matters. Our team handles high-stakes first- and third-party coverage disputes, including complex bad-faith cases, and represents clients in state and federal courts throughout the United States.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with a broad spectrum of insurance products, including commercial general liability, umbrella and excess liability, first-party property, environmental liability, management liability such as directors & officers (D&O) and employment practices (EPL), professional liability, commercial auto liability, cyber liability, and construction, surety, and homeowners coverage. In addition, you’ll see how our lawyers handle related products liability and other commercial disputes.

The Dallas office is known for its collaborative, supportive environment where Summer Associates are entrusted with meaningful work from day one. You’ll contribute to research, drafting, strategy discussions, and case preparation, gaining practical experience that builds a strong foundation for a litigation career.

What We’re Looking For

Ideal candidates are those interested in litigation and eager to begin their career at Clyde & Co in Dallas, in addition to meeting the following requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a J.D. program with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
• Proven academic and professional record
• Participation in law journal, moot court, leadership roles, or other extracurricular activities is advantageous
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong communication skills for working effectively with clients and colleagues
• An inclusive mindset and openness to diverse perspectives
• Ability to commit to a minimum of nine weeks with the firm as a summer associate; split summer schedules may be accommodated
