Over the six years of your Solicitor Apprenticeship, you’ll combine academic study with hands-on experience, working alongside leading lawyers on real matters for our clients. You’ll spend one day per week studying at BPP University, with the rest of your week based in our London office, developing the legal, technical, and professional skills you’ll need to become a successful solicitor.
You’ll be assigned to a legal practice area and rotate through different teams during the programme, giving you exposure to a range of areas of commercial law. You’ll initially rotate every 12 months before moving to six-month rotations in the later years of the programme. As you progress and your experience grows, you’ll have the opportunity to put forward your preferences for the areas you’d like to explore.
In each department, you’ll be supported by a Principal – a senior lawyer who will oversee your learning and development – alongside mentors, buddies, and our Early Careers team. Throughout the six years, you’ll have access to Linklaters’ legal training courses and professional development opportunities, helping you build your confidence, take on greater responsibility, and develop the skills required for a successful career in commercial law.
Our Solicitor Apprenticeship is aimed at current Year 13 students or school leavers without a degree. You’ll complete an LLB in Law and the SQE as part of the six-year programme, providing you with a route to qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales. For the current recruitment cycle, applicants are expected to be predicted a minimum of AAB at A-level, with equivalent qualifications also accepted
