Traineeship options

We offer a two year Traineeship programme and you will be asked to specify your preference in your application form.

Perth - Our Perth traineeship programme offers the opportunity to undertake a 12 month seat within our Land & Rural team as well as a 12 month seat in our Private Client team.

For our Edinburgh traineeship programme, you will have the chance to experience four x 6 month seats in different departments, which may also include spending time in our Morningside and Glasgow offices in the following practice areas:

• Commercial Property
• Corporate
• Dispute Resolution
• Energy & Strategic Land
• Housebuilding
• Land and Rural Business
• Private Client & Tax
• Residential Property

Important dates

The application closing date for the 2027 Traineeship Programme is 12 noon on 26 September 2025 however we encourage you to complete your application as soon as possible.

First stage assessments are due to take place in person in Edinburgh on 14/15 October and second stage interviews are due to take place in person in Edinburgh on 27/28 October. Full details will be provided to successful candidates.
